The basketball section of FC Barcelona, created in 1926, is the second club in Spain in the number of titles won. The Palau Blaugrana, opened on the 23 October 1971, was designed by the Catalan architects Francesc Cavaller and Josep Soteras. It has a capacity of 8,250 and its main feature is the huge reinforced concrete dome, which makes the venue one of the most modern and attractive in Spain.
